CIGARETTE BOX, length 6 inches, depth 3-3/4 inches. Plain polished body lined with cedar.
The interior of the lid is gilded and inscribed "To SYLVESTER I. OLSON Fom the STAFF OF USOM LISBON NOVEMBER 2, 1955".

Sylvester Olsen worked for the American Foreign Operations Administation Mission in Europe and was based in Lisbon. USOM stands for the United States Operations Mission working in Europe after the Second World War.

The base has the eagle hallmark for Portugal and the silver standard of .833

PAIR OF SILVER PLATE MEDALLIONS of Swiss Interest. Embossed and chased.
Diameter 4-1/4 inches. Mounted on velvet.
One medallion shows William Tell and his son in a mountainous landscape, based on the memorial (1895) in Altdorf designed by Richard Kissling.
The other shows a wounded lion lying on the shield of France. It represents the Swiss Guard who defended the French Royal family in 1792. It is based on a well known work in Lucerne, Switzerland designed by the Danish sculptor Albert Thorwaldsen in 1819.

Both unmarked. Velvet worn.
